ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
PUBLIC WORKS BID SCHEDULE “H” – 2009
The City of Janesville, Wisconsin hereby gives notice that it will receive sealed bids for the
following listed Public Work:
C2009-22 Storm Sewer Improvements
– For furnishing all the labor,
materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for
construction replacement of approximately 1,000 L.F. of 12”-30”
storm sewer and associated street and non-paved surface
restoration.
C2009-23 Parker Drive Parking Structure
– For furnishing all the labor,
materials, equipment, and completing site demolition,
excavation, and shoring; concrete formwork, placing and
finishing; reinforcing and structural steel material and installation;
design, fabrication and installation of precast concrete panels;
providing and installing metal doors, frames and hardware;
waterproofing, coating, caulking, sealant, drywall; providing and
installing elevators; HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire
protection systems for a complete 4-level parking structure
accommodating approximately 235 parking spaces.
C2009-24 Highridge Greenbelt Improvement
– For furnishing all the
labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for
restoration of greenbelt, including clearing and grubbing, 550 L.F.
storm sewer, 100 gabion baskets, 1,500 C.Y. rip-rap, 3,500 S.Y.
geotextile fabric, 5,000 C.Y. excavation and grading, and erosion
control.
2:00 P.M. LOCAL TIME ON WEDNESDAY, THE 12TH
Sealed bids will be received until
DAY OF AUGUST, 2009.
All bids shall be addressed to the City Clerk’s Office, City of
Janesville Municipal Building, 18 North Jackson Street, Janesville, Wisconsin, 53548, and
shall be enclosed in a SEALED ENVELOPE, marked with the name and address of the
Bidder and Contract Title for which the bid is being submitted. All bidders shall bid in
accordance with, and shall bid upon, the bid forms included in the Contract Documents.
Bids will be opened in the Council Chambers at 2:01 P.M. on the same date. The above
Public Work will be let to the lowest responsible bidder and must be performed in
accordance with the plans, specifications, and contracts on file with the City Clerk.

No bid will be read or considered unless accompanied by a certified check equal to 10
percent of the bid or a bid bond in equal amount, payable to the City as guaranty that if the
bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within ten
days from the date the lowest responsible bidder's bid is accepted. In case the bidder fails
to execute such contract and bond within the time set by the City, the check or bid bond
shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages.
The form of contract and bond and questionnaire to show bidder's proof of responsibility in
accordance with Section 66.29(2) Wisconsin Statutes, as well as the plans and
specifications, are on file and may be obtained at the City Engineer's Office, Municipal
Building.
WEDNESDAY, JULY
Plans and detailed specifications are scheduled to be available on
22, 2009
. Contract Documents and Drawings will be issued on a CD for a $10.00
non-refundable fee per Contract requested.
The wage scales to be paid on these projects are enclosed in the Contract Documents, as
well as on file in the City Clerk’s Office, and all work is subject to Section 66.293 of
Wisconsin’s Statutes.

Maps; Document Library; Engineering Department; Bidder’s Proof of Responsibility).
Forms shall show sufficient financial ability, equipment, and experience to perform the
Contract. The decision regarding qualifications shall be final.
A plan holder list is also available on the City’s web site, updated as necessary.
Said work shall be commenced by, and shall be entirely completed by, the dates set in the
proposal for the specific work.
The determination of the lowest and best bid will be decided by the City Engineer, subject
to review by the City Council. The Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
No bidder may withdraw his bid within 45 days after the actual date of the bid opening.
