ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
PUBLIC WORKS BID SCHEDULE “F” – 2009
The City of Janesville, Wisconsin hereby gives notice that it will receive sealed bids for the
following listed Public Work:
C2009-17 Parker Drive Parking Structure Pre-Cast Package
– For
furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the
work necessary for designing and fabricating all precast concrete
components and furnishing/installing thin, set brick and sealants
for a four-level parking structure to accommodate approximately
225 parking spaces. A separate bid package will be issued on a
future contract to assemble and construct the parking structure.
C2009-18 New and Replacement Sidewalk
– For furnishing all the labor,
materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the
construction and completion of 89,000 S.F. of new and
replacement concrete sidewalk in various locations.
C2009-19 South River Road Greenbelt Improvement
– For furnishing all
the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary
for clearing and restoration of greenbelt including 500 S.Y. heavy
rip-rap; brush and tree removal; 1,500 C.Y. excavation and
grading; and seeding.
2:00 P.M. LOCAL TIME ON WEDNESDAY, THE 17TH
Sealed bids will be received until
DAY OF JUNE, 2009.
All bids shall be addressed to the City Clerk’s Office, City of
Janesville Municipal Building, 18 North Jackson Street, Janesville, Wisconsin, 53548, and
shall be enclosed in a SEALED ENVELOPE, marked with the name and address of the
Bidder and Contract Title for which the bid is being submitted. All bidders shall bid in
accordance with, and shall bid upon, the bid forms included in the Contract Documents.
Bids will be opened in the Council Chambers at 2:01 P.M. on the same date. The above
Public Work will be let to the lowest responsible bidder and must be performed in
accordance with the plans, specifications, and contracts on file with the City Clerk.
No bid will be read or considered unless accompanied by a certified check equal to 10
percent of the bid or a bid bond in equal amount, payable to the City as guaranty that if the
bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within ten

days from the date the lowest responsible bidder's bid is accepted. In case the bidder fails
to execute such contract and bond within the time set by the City, the check or bid bond
shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages.
The form of contract and bond and questionnaire to show bidder's proof of responsibility in
accordance with Section 66.29(2) Wisconsin Statutes, as well as the plans and
specifications, are on file and may be obtained at the City Engineer's Office, Municipal
Building.

and detailed specifications for Contract 2009-17 will be issued on a CD for the $10.00 non-
refundable mailing fee. In addition, bidders are required to have a copy of the Standard
Specifications for Public Works Construction, which may be purchased at the City
Engineering Office for $30.00 per copy.
The wage scales to be paid on these projects are enclosed in the Contract Documents, as
well as on file in the City Clerk’s Office, and all work is subject to Section 66.293 of
Wisconsin’s Statutes.

Forms shall show sufficient financial ability, equipment, and experience to perform the
Contract. The decision regarding qualifications shall be final.
Said work shall be commenced by, and shall be entirely completed by, the dates set in the
proposal for the specific work.
The determination of the lowest and best bid will be decided by the City Engineer, subject
to review by the City Council. The Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
No bidder may withdraw his bid within 75 days after the actual date of the bid opening.
