PURPOSE
To establish guidelines and procedures for the allocation and
spending of funds authorized via approved referendum; the monitoring
of approved referendum expenditures; and the reporting of approved
referendum expenditures to the City Council.
STATEMENT OF POLICY
The policy of the City Council is to spend funds authorized via
approved referendum only on the project(s) listed in the resolution
authorizing the referendum. Any other use of approved referendum
funds is prohibited.
PROCEDURES
1. The City will spend funds authorized via approved referendum
only on the project(s) listed in the resolution authorizing the
referendum. Funds authorized via approved referendum will be
allocated to the budget deemed most appropriate by the Finance
Director.
2. The Finance Director will monitor approved referendum
expenditures to ensure monies are spent only on project(s)
listed in the resolution authorizing the referendum.
3. The Finance Director will report on approved referendum
expenditures as part of the monthly financial statements
provided to the City Council.
